AN IMPERIAL SERVICE BAR BADGE

WWI period imperial service badge.  Worn on the right breast by members of the territorial force (who trained part time and took part in home service) it was in use from 1910 to signify the soldier was able to travel overseas and join the armed forces in a state emergency.  The territorial force was later called the territorial army.
