Gilt and enamel shield pin badge from Warners holiday camp at Dovercourt bay, Essex.  A popular resort with an interesting history. 

 Opened 1937

1939 War time. Used during the winter as a refugee centre for children from europe escaping persecution. 1942 Requsitioned by the government for use as a pow camp.

Refurbished with state of the art ballroom,dining room, swimming pool, boating lake,bowling green,tennis courts, cricket green,putting green,playing fields and updated chalets.

1979-1983  Used for the filming of the bbc comedy series Hi De Hi!
